"It’s almost impossible to summarise the significance of trees to us. Let’s only imagine that we did not have them and had thereby lost their connection to the past, their movement, their hospitality, their generosity and their usefulness to us and the entire ecosystem."
Sophie Churchill CEO, Chief Executive of the National Forest Company

Partners

For this initiative the RSA is working in partnership with the following organisations.

England's Community Forests England's Community Forests
Established in 1990, England's Community Forests is a national programme to revitalise and regenerate the countryside and greenspace in and around twelve of our major towns and cities. Community Forests use multipurpose forestry to create attractive, accessible, well-wooded and sustainably managed environments that enhance the health, well-being and quality of life of local communities.

Moor Trees Moor Trees
Moor Trees works with partners and stakeholders towards the restoration of native, broadleaved woodland in and around Dartmoor National Park. Registered as a charity in 2000, Moor Trees works with local communities to plant saplings grown from locally-sourced seed in our network of community nurseries. Working with local people and volunteers, our free charitable woodland service and nursery projects help landowners create high quality conservation woodlands.  We involve in our work, schools, communities and partners to deliver educational objectives.

The National Forest Company The National Forest Company
The National Forest Company is a forest in the making: a place of 200 square miles spanning three counties in the English Midlands whose physical creation can now be witnessed and enjoyed. The National Forest is for the nation: welcoming to visitors and home to local people, all of whom can participate in its development as part of the nation's future heritage.

The Tree Council The Tree Council
The Tree Council was founded in 1974 with major support from the Department of the Environment and in 1978 became an independent registered charity.

The Woodland Trust The Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust campaigns to create and improve policies, incentives and legislation to protect ancient woods, improve woodland biodiversity, increase native woodland cover and increase understanding and enjoyment of woods.

Trees for Cities Trees for Cities
Trees for London (a project managed by Trees for Cities) is an independent charity set up in 1993 to work with local communities in the capital on tree planting and landscaping projects. The charity also offers vocational training in arboriculture and horticulture, curriculum-related activities for schools and fundraising parties at top clubs in London such as the Ministry of Sound. The public can become involved by sponsoring or dedicating a tree, registering as a volunteer and participating in our family-orientated planting days, and coming to the charity's club nights.
